| About ICMR |
The Network is a group of specialist laboratories providing tests for the diagnosis and management of patients with Inherited Metabolic Disorders in India. The group comprises both public and private health professionals dedicated to evolution of newborn screening and genetic testing in India.
The Network was formed in October 2002 with funding from Indian Council of Medical Research. The group activities however started in April 2007 after financial Aid. This has seen light under able guidance of Professor Shyam Aggarwal, Dr Vasanta Muthuswamy, Dr Veena Kalra and Dr Madhulika Kabra.
Dr. Roli Mathur from ICMR is the key person for organisation and coordination of the entire group. However activities of the Network are co-ordinated by a Scientist - Dr. Seema Kapoor at Lok Nayak Hospital affiliated to Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi (helpdesk @icmrmetbionetindia.org) with support from our administrators Ms Esha Juneja and Mr. Kanwar Singh Yadav from MAMC.
The Network has an assay directory to source laboratory testing services in the India for specialist metabolites and enzymes for inherited metabolic disorders.
